Tricia Fox our newest member - May 3, 2010
Tricia Fox is our newest member of the Purple Songs Can Fly Project. She has been writing songs for most of her life, and after getting a guitar for her fourteenth birthday, she knew it would stick with her. In university, Tricia had a hard time deciding between medicine and music. After loosing a dear friend and fellow musician to Cystic Fibrosis, something inside her told her to follow music. Through music she could perhaps work in the medical industry to help heal and comfort patients. "I knew I wanted to continue connecting with songwriting and I wasn't sure how or when, but I felt as though there was a beautiful combination of the two worlds and that we would find each other one day."
That day came a few months after getting her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Her sister forwarded an e-mail with the Purple Songs Can Fly website. The rest is history. Tricia e-mailed Carol Herron and met with Carol and Anita late fall of 2009. In January of 2010 Tricia started interning for Purple Songs Can Fly and has loved every minute of it. "I really don't think I could have designed a better match for myself. Just wait until you hear some of the wisdom and joy that comes from these kids! It truly is a blessing to be a part of something so inspirational. I hope to be a part of the program for a long time."
